The cream ale is one of only a few styles that can be said to be 100% American. Originating on the east coast in the 1880s, it was an ale brewed to compete with the popular lagers and pilsners. It's not particularly creamy as the name suggest, it is more clean and crisp.
Combining the best of Attic’s Illinois and Colorado origins (thus the name), this cream ale is crafted as an ale and fermented with a lager/ale yeast blend. We traditionally added a generous amount of corn to lighten the body and add some flavor, then broke tradition with a light addition of Cascade hops for a cleaner mouth feel. Light, crisp, and easy drinking.
